The Airport With the Most Scheduled

collected by the Airports Council International or ACI,
has shown that among the world's 30 largest airports in
1983, Bangkok International Airport (BIA) was ranked the
51st with its 5.68 mil. passengers. After 15 years have
passed, in 1998 number of passengers at BIA was up to 25.62
mil. which resulted BIA's quantitative rank of passenger
to become the 28th of the world.
Among the world's 50 largest airports, volume of cargo handling
at BIA in 1991 was 403,087 tons being the 23rd of the world.
Then in 1998 the volume of cargo increased to 719,324 tons
which resulted BIA to become the 24th of the world.
For aircraft movements, in 1994 BIA had 160,178 flights
being the 93rd rank of the world. In 1998, the number of
flights increased to 178,458 then BIA became the 91st rank
of the world.

International Airport (Don Muang Airport)
lies 25 kilometers north of the city. To get to the city

Passengers are required to pay the fare plus a surcharge
of 50 Baht and toll fee.
Note : Metered taxis has to obtain a coupon designed
for preventing problems which may occur, and helping passengers
in the case that they fall into trouble and need to contact
the taxi drivers. The driver’s name will appear on the coupon
which is separated into three parts. Each of the coupon
parts will be held by the passenger (s), the driver and
the Airports Authority of Thailand. The coupon service is
at the sole expense of the Airports Authority of Thailand.

between 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.. It takes about 45 minutes to reach
Hualamphong Station which is Bangkok's main railway station.

Airport from 5.00 A.M.-11.30 P.M. (every 20 mins) in front
of terminal 1, 2
